Round Square is a unique educational philosophy, spearheaded by a world-wide network of over 280 schools on five continents. Member schools come together to enrich the student experience through international learning opportunities. By participating in exchanges and humanitarian missions organised with Round Square, our students become more aware of their place in today's ever-changing world.

Ermitage was the first school in France to join the network. Through Round Square, we can further our students' awareness of the world community and their place in an ever-changing global society. Round Square is founded on six pillars, or IDEALS, which are reflected in Ermitage's academic curriculum: Internationalism, Democracy, Environment, Adventure, Leadership and Service. By participating in trips, conferences, school exchanges, service projects and more, our students gain valuable life and learning experiences.

Leadership Conferences

Through Round Square conferences, Ermitage students have the extraordinary opportunity to work with fellow international students, discuss important world issues, and build a global network of lifelong friends.

Round Square offers International and regional conferences throughout the secondary years (Collège / IB MYP and Lycée / IB DP). International conferences are held annually for each age group (Collège / IB MYP and Lycée / IB DP). International conferences focus on one main pillar of the organisation and are held on a different continent each year. In recent years, Ermitage students have participated in Round Square conferences in Colombia, Kenya, Denmark, Germany, India, Switzerland, Thailand, South Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States.

Projectos de serviços

At Ermitage, we ask our students to think critically about their impact on an ever-changing world. We encourage them to challenge the world they live in so they can engage more intensely with the issues facing their peers and their environment.

Students can participate in various service-learning opportunities throughout the year, such as the Round Square International Service (“RSIS”) projects with students from other schools, which have recently focused on building infrastructure to make communities self-sufficient. Our student volunteers have worked in Thailand and South Africa for the last two years.

Student Exchanges

Starting in MYP1 or 6ème (6th grade), Ermitage students can choose to participate in group trips or individual exchanges with a wide network of Round Square schools. We have recently sent our students to Singapore, Scotland, Australia, the United States, Denmark, Germany, Peru, India, Canada, and South Africa. Meanwhile, back here at Ermitage, new students from abroad are always joining us to share their home culture with our students and develop their own understanding of French language and culture.

Gap Year

Os estudantes em período sabático com mais de 18 anos são bem-vindos a inscrever-se nos semestres de outono e primavera na Ermitage. Os nossos estudantes mais recentes vieram da Austrália, Colômbia, Escócia, Mongólia, Canadá e Reino Unido.
